May 10, 2017, Morden, MB.// Dr. Elliot Hanowski of the University of Manitoba will be in Morden on May 24 at 7 pm presenting on the history of Atheist and Secular movements in Canada.
The eighth in a FREE educational series on human diversity that started back in 2015, the presentation will investigate beliefs, actions, motivations and the social context of these movements.
“Several of the past eight Diversitas presentations have focused on understanding certain types of faith,” said Diversitas founder Peter Cantelon. “With this presentation we have an opportunity to better understand those movements that self-identify as non-faith or secular. This is incredibly important in our age and context, especially considering the significant contributions atheism and secularism have brought to Canada and the world.”
As with previous presentations the audience will have an opportunity to engage Dr. Hanowski during a question and answer period as well as a chance to meet with him after the presentation.
Diversitas was started by Peter Cantelon in 2015 with the intent of offering educational presentations on human diversity. The core belief of Diversitas is that diversity is a strength and education about diversity can lead to increased tolerance between people and ultimately peace.
